    Highlights of the Tour

    • Beautiful Hiking to Unique Places
    • Cosy Inuit Village Life
    • Long Evenings and Midnight Sun

Kulusuk is a rocky island situated on the outskirts of the Ammassalik fjord system in East Greenland. In summer it features beautiful boulders and cliffs, as well as great hiking routes. Its big brother to the north, the Aputsiak Island, partially covered with a big glacier, is characterized by pristine arctic nature and the peace and quiet one expects in these environments. On this tour we explore the hiking routes of the two islands, experience the life of local folks in the hunter’s village of Kulusuk and get a feeling for how it is to live year round on the Arctic Circle. From our camp in front of the Aputsiak glacier we will be amazed by the quiet nights, see icebergs and drift ice, and be fascinated by the endless daylight of the arctic. We will discover the incredible variety of the arctic flora and with a little luck we might see a humpback whale, a seal and even an arctic fox. Accommodation in a cozy hostel (mountain hut style) in Kulusuk and a comfortable camp on Aputsiak Island.
